| Description: | Portland State University seeks a Director of Development to lead and manage all fundraising initiatives within its School of Business (SBA). This is a unique opportunity to lead an ascending fundraising operation with tremendous potential at the the only public business school in one of the world’s most desirable cities. The Director of Development will help complete a $20 million campaign for a major building addition and renovation (currently at 40% of goal), further fundraising success in centers for real estate, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and retail leadership, continue building the Fund for Excellence and the Accounting Circle, and manage an emerging fundraising strategy aimed at one of the highest potential group of alumni within the Gulf Cooperation Council countries of any American university.
The Director of Development will have the opportunity to leverage a dynamic and supportive President, and be a strategic partner with a seasoned Dean to achieve the SBA’s vision of being internationally renowned for leadership in business sustainability. Benefiting from being ranked 25th in the world by Beyond Grey Pinstripes, the SBA is increasingly attracting a greater proportion of high quality, non-resident, and international students. Currently 2800 students are admitted to eight undergraduate options, and 700 are admitted to four graduate programs. A new Masters in Real Estate Development will start in fall 2011. PSU is Oregon’s largest university with nearly 30,000 students.
The desired candidate will have three to five years experience within the fundraising operation of a top 75 business school. A minimum of five years of fundraising and management experience, and an undergraduate degree are required. Successful completion of a background check is required.
