HR Business Partner (R18-228)
Provide consultation, guidance and calibration on complex business, leadership, employee and labor relations issues within designated business units on Human Resource programs, policies and guidelines. Effectively partner and collaborate with the business and HR to ensure alignment of solutions with business strategies and objectives.

• Employee Relations:
 Provide consultation to management and employees on the performance management lifecycle.
 Conduct group and individual problem-solving and conflict resolution sessions.
 Provide mediation/negotiation services to client areas as needed such as coaching, facilitation, tools and resources.
 Support Conduct investigations/interviews and provide recommendations on various employee relations issues.
 Counsel and assist management regarding EEO, ADA, FMLA, OFLA, and AAP laws and their responsibilities.
 Assess individual case risk and collaborate with Legal, Leaves and others to resolve complex cases.
 Oversee or collaborate on investigations.
 Analyze and advise clients regarding deviations from established policy; recommend improvements to policies and guidelines.

• Planning and Strategy:
 Consult with area management regarding organizational design.
 Consult with area management on talent management, including workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership development.
 Guide managers through strategy development.
 Provide input to HR Centers of excellence for development of tools related to strategy development and workforce planning.

• Operations Management:
 Provide support in developing job descriptions and navigating appropriate processes for compensation reviews.
 Consult with managers to provide expertise and processes for rightsizing, outplacement and severance application, and career development options.
 Provide guidance and leadership to company leadership and HR centers of excellence in execution of all HR initiatives.

• Labor Relations:
 Interpret and communicate to managers collective bargaining agreements.
 Provide expertise to area operating management in preparing for and during contract negotiations and in conducting 2nd step union grievance meetings.
 Facilitate joint management and labor relations meetings.

• Project Management/Program Development:
 Identify, assess, and communicate to central Human Resources staff issues, risks, and opportunities.
 Represent area and Human Resources on ad hoc task forces.
 Lead various Human Resources projects or studies.
 Assist central Human Resources in developing programs, policies, and procedures.
 Identify business needs and plan and lead initiatives to address.
 Other duties as assigned.

Bring the following skills to our team:

• Thorough knowledge of Human Resources best practices.
• Comprehensive knowledge of employment law, including state, local and federal.
• Thorough knowledge of organizational and Human Resources principles in order to deal with diverse organizational issues.
• Working knowledge of utility industry, including funding structure and business environment (highly desireable).

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or related field plus eight years of progressively responsible HR experience in a consultative or business partnering role or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least one year of experience in at least five areas of Human Resources (e.g., employee relations, labor relations, employee training, employee development, compensation, benefits, safety, performance management, EEO, staffing, organizational development).HR certification plus one year of experience in a regulated industry strongly preferred. Valid driver’s license and proven safe driving record.
