Construction Manager – Capital Projects (R17-661)


The Construction Manager – Capital Projects manages and administer contracts for capital construction projects managed by the PMO. This position manages multidisciplinary construction activities with Substation and Transmission management and engineering personnel and consultants to minimize risk to T&D operations and protect the company’s interests. This role ensures contract deliverables meet contract specifications by monitoring contractors work.

The Construction Manager is also responsible for project implementation plans for substation and transmission construction and other major capital projects to include confirmation of scope, schedule and resource requirements. The incumbent assesses project performance according to the plan, report progress, identify potential problems, and evaluate effectiveness of project processes. Further, this position will provide training, oversight and coordination of internal and external inspection resources, and ensure safety and construction progress records are completed and documented appropriately.


• 15 or more years of experience managing complex construction projects required.
• A high school degree or equivalent, an engineering or construction management related degree is preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with evidence of safe driving habits..
• Thorough knowledge of PGE or Utility related contract administration policies and procedures.
• Thorough knowledge of construction practices and applicable codes and standards.
• Thorough knowledge of substation operation and maintenance practices.
• Thorough knowledge of substation design and construction processes.
• Thorough knowledge of equipment capabilities and restrictions.
• Thorough knowledge of computer applications required to support management of contracts, status monitoring and reporting on projects.
