The incumbent in this role will supervise a staff of technicians overseeing activities related to restoring and maintaining Public Land Survey System (PLSS) corners and survey requests as they pertain to public rights-of-way, construction projects, and other public survey requests. The successful candidate will be required to coordinate with a variety of professionals, technicians, contractors, stakeholders, agencies, and citizens. This position will also perform the legal responsibilities of the County Surveyor in his/her absence.
Education and Experience:
A typical way to obtain the minimum required training and experience would be:
An Associate's Degree in surveying and six (6) years of experience in construction, boundary, and/or cadastral surveying which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience; OR
A Bachelor's Degree is surveying and four (4) years of experience in construction, boundary and/or cadastral surveying which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience; OR
Eight (8) years of experience in construction, boundary and/or cadastral surveying which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Additional Licenses, Certificates, Physical Abilities and Specialty Requirements
Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor by the State of Oregon within six (6) months of appointment.
