Inspiring Hope. Empowering Independence. Impact NW offers programs that aim at ending generational poverty in the Portland metro area and offer services from early childhood to seniors and adults with disabilities.
The Extended Day Instructor will work the SUN Site Supervisor and Extended Day Coordinator to provide opportunities for enrichment classes and activities after school. We often need assistance for homework help and one-on-one work with students who have special needs. In addition the program occasionally provides opportunities for activities during school in-service days and evening family opportunities
Starting hourly: $12/hr.
Location: Buckman Elementary 320 SE 16th Ave Portland, OR 97214
Schedule: January-June 2018 with possibility of summer camps as well.
Any combination of experience and training that would likely meet the following requirements:
Experience and willingness to provide academic and recreational activities to students in after school environments (generally 3-5:30 pm Mon.-Fri.).
Experience working with school-aged children from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Looking for folks with multiple areas of expertise that you are passionate about and eager to share with students.For Winter 2018, we are particularly interested in teachers fordrama, sciences, computer programming/ legorobotics , and Spanish.We are also open to teachers forelementary math, literacy, art, sports and fitness, dance, science, etc.
Willing to work one-on-one with students who have special needs (inclusionary services)li>
