Washington County is currently recruiting for two (2) Mental Health Specialist II positions. One position will be located in the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Jail and the other will be in Community Corrections.

Do you bring expertise in providing assessments, crisis intervention, counseling, and case management? The position with the Washington County Sheriff's Office will work in the Jail with adjudicated inmates to reduce recidivism.

The position in Community Corrections will help to set program goals and objectives collaboratively with the team; oversee operations and address issues/barriers; provide direct administrative supervision to victim assistance specialists and all interns/volunteers; provide clinical supervision; provide direct mental health counseling; and collaborate with in-house and external partners.
Sheriff’s Office:
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
• Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in clinical social work, psychology or other closely related field; AND
• Two (2) years of professional work experience in counseling.
• Some positions may require bilingual knowledge skills and abilities to include knowledge of the language, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; skill in writing accurately; and the ability to speak fluently and communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Community Corrections:
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
• Possession of a Master's Degree in counseling, clinical social work, psychology or other closely related field; AND
• Must be able to pass a post-offer psychological assessment prior to appointment; AND
• Possession of professional licensure in the State of Oregon to practice mental health as one of the following:
1. LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)
2. LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist)
3. LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
4. Licensed Psychologist (Doctoral Level)
5. Licensed Psychiatrist
6. Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
The application period for this position is from February 24, 2018 to March 11, 2018.
