Inspiring Hope. Empowering Independence. Impact NW offers programs that aim at ending generational poverty in the Portland metro area and offer services from early childhood to seniors and adults with disabilities.
We have a current opportunity for an Extended Day STEM Instructor to assist in the implementation of a STEM program for 3rd-5th graders at Kinnaman Elementary located in Aloha. The instructor will help to plan curriculum for and teach fun, themed learning classes with links to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) as well as participate in after school field trips and family nights throughout the term.
Wage: $11.25 - $13 per hour
Schedule (Part-Time, seasonal): Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 2:50pm - 6:00pm, from 1/11/18 - 3/16/18
Location: Kinnaman Elementary, 4205 SW 193rd Ave, Aloha, OR 97007
Any combination of experience and training that would likely meet the following requirements:
Previous experience teaching STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) lessons with third through fifth grade students in an after school or academic setting
Experience planning STEM-based lessons and/or curriculum for elementary-age students.
Ability to supervise 12-18 children, ages 8-12 in a positive, caring manner.li>
Experience with behavior management and creating a positive, enriching, and safe learning environment.
