The Director of Programming, Booking and Marketing heads up the booking and marketing department. The primary focus of this position is Portland'5 Presents-the programming arm of the venue. This position generates revenue by promoting and selling Portland'5 Centers for the Arts (Portland'5) venues and services. It also programs and supports a robust education program targeting disadvantaged schools, diverse programs that meet community needs as well as innovative arts programming.
Responsibilities include supervising and coordinating the activities of staff involved in marketing, selling and booking events; interfacing with other departments regarding Portland'5 Presents programming and activities; assisting in the development and implementation of departmental policies, procedures, goals and objectives; and department budget preparation, monitoring and forecasting. This position is part of the Portland'5 senior executive team.

Bachelor's degree in marketing, arts or business administration, theater or a related field, and a minimum of four years of programming experience in a public assembly facility such as a performing arts center or comparable building with particular emphasis on working with promoters, artists agents and community arts organizations. Experience curating a season and programming an education series preferably within a performing arts center environment is preferred but not required. Graduation from the International Association of Venue Manager's Venue Management School desired but not a requirement.
