The Staff Training and Development Director is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the Staff Training and Development Department. Specifically, the Director establishes the annual operating budget and strategic goals for the successful operation of Cascadia's Training Program, while supporting a Trauma Informed Care environment. With the high prevalence of trauma among individuals receiving mental health services, it is required the Staff Training and Development Director understand the effects of trauma on health, coping, and other aspects of the lives of those we serve. This position is responsible for developing and coordinating staff development and career development opportunities through live trainings, as well as online trainings via Relias, Cascadia's electronic learning management system (LMS).

Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences, Education, Organizational Development or related field required. Master's Degree preferred (but not required).
Five years of training or teaching experience in a mid to large sized organization required. A minimum of two years of experience providing supervision required. Professional experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness is preferred.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong planning, organizing and Directorial skills, with great attention to detail
Ability to develop effective policies and procedures
Ability to provide guidance, direction, training, as needed
Ability to understand recovery model, motivational interviewing, illness management and recovery, evidence based practices, and strength based case management philosophies and strategies
Operate computer hardware and software at a level needed to effectively perform job functions
Accurately enter data and retrieve data in the Learning Management System (LMS)
Prepare reports and train others on the basic functions of the LMS.
Ability to commute to Cascadia sites and other community locations as needed.
