Business Continuity Emergency Management (R18-467)
This is a limited duration position for up to 2 years depending upon performance
and business needs. Full benefits are included.
It’s pretty daunting to be thinking about all the ways a company business can be disrupted
by natural disasters such as snow storms, epidemics, earthquakes, terrorism, floods or fires.
These are some of the things that keep officers and leaders up at night. What would be the

In the Business Continuity Emergency Management position, you will:
 Develop, implement and update the enterprise wide business continuity and
emergency management program, strategies and initiatives; supports a culture of
business continuity awareness; builds and maintains active relationships with
business units to facilitate the program and initiatives.
 Conduct business continuity risk and impact assessments to identify service gaps and
define critical services and staffing needs.
 Coordinate the design, development, implementation and maintenance of business
continuity and emergency management and tactical response plans ensuring
adequate protection of company assets.
 Coordinate and participate in and evaluates emergency and/or business continuity
exercises to ensure appropriate preparedness levels; supports the development of
and facilitates internal drills and table-top exercises.
 Maintain awareness of emerging situations which could warrant an emergency
response; support mitigating potential business interruptions and responds, as
assigned, to events impacting the continuation and survival of business services and
operations.
 As assigned, monitors trends and practices within the industry and researches and
recommends new systems and technology for emergency response, planning and
recovery.
 Evaluating the program to determine that business continuity and emergency
management meet regulatory requirements, best practices, laws, rules, compliance
with industry standards, customer expectations, employee safety and financial
guidelines; monitor feedback on program performance and service to business-unit
leaders to recommend program changes and improvement.
 Attend industry-association committees and business continuity forums; participate
in regional interdependencies, emergency planning and disaster-recovery plans and
exercises; establish and maintain contact with the community and government
officials, including emergency managers.
Qualifications? The successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge in the
following:
 Principles, procedures, regulations and techniques of business continuity, emergency
management and disaster response.
 Incident Command Structure (ICS), National Incident Management System (NIMS)
and related emergency management and business continuity response standards and
procedures.
 Risk-mitigation principles and best practices.
 Knowledge of the Utility industry, system and regulations, including Oregon Public
Utility requirements.
The successful candidate will typically have 1-3 years of applicable experience. A Bachelor’s
Degree in risk management, business continuity, emergency management, security or
related field or equivalent experience is required.
