Salary Range: $7,430 - $9,777 per month.
Starting salary is $7,430 - $9,039 (depending upon qualifications), plus full benefits package.

The City of Hillsboro’s Economic Development Department has an opening for a Senior Project Manager. This person will work as part of the Department’s team to lead real estate project development. The ideal candidate will have experience in real estate development and negotiations, urban renewal/economic development and infrastructure planning and development.

The City's Economic Development team focuses on business development, including retention and recruitment, as well as downtown redevelopment and developing and promoting the North Hillsboro industrial area. Both downtown and North Hillsboro are urban renewal areas. This position will work collaboratively as part of the Economic Development team, as well as other Departments in the City, to identify, develop and negotiate real estate projects that support the economic development mission of the department and the City of Hillsboro.

Key responsibilities of the position are:
• Provides project development and management for industrial, commercial and residential development and redevelopment activities and projects;
• Coordinates with City departments and other agencies for the planning, financing and development of public/private development projects and public infrastructure projects;
• Coordinates negotiations related to City participation in private development projects;
• Provides ideas and innovations to existing programs and develop new initiatives that respond to market opportunities and demand.

General Statement of Duties
The principal function of an employee in this class is to plan and oversee the activities of professionals and para-professionals and are responsible for staff, process and function and budget for their designated projects. Responsibilities include supervising technical support and professional staff; providing advanced technical support on the most complex issues; providing staff support for Boards, Commissions, and the Council; serving on special committees; serving as liaison for intergovernmental issues; developing policies and procedures; overseeing studies and projects; managing and overseeing compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.

Acceptable Experience and Training
Bachelor’s degree related to area of assignment and 5 years experience including supervisory responsibilities depending on assignment; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
