Assistant Financial Accounting & Reporting (R18-165)
In this position, you will provide accounting support for specifically assigned areas primarily involving PGE’s regulatory agencies and other external parties. This support includes preparation of external reporting requirements while complying with internal controls (SOX 404) and governance policies. Work in a team environment with other members of the Financial Accounting and Reporting department. In addition, support preparation of bank reconciliations, and month end JE compliance.
Preparation of assigned information required by regulatory agencies and other external parties (SEC, FERC, SOx 404).
Send and track for compliance
Develop thorough understanding of processes in functional area in order to make informed decisions
Develop thorough understanding of internal controls processes and proactively support adherence to internal controls framework.
Prepare and coordinate presentations for Quarterly Board Audit Committee, Controls Committee and Disclosure Committee.
Prepare Form 8300 (Tax)
Accounting Support for Assigned Areas
Provide accounting services monthly closing and reporting in assigned functional areas
Create and track White Papers in system, circulate to appropriate approvers
Balance Journal Entries to system
Reconcile Billmatrix cash account
Bring the following skills to our team:
Working knowledge and skills dealing with financial related information in order to effectively identify problems and recommend solutions.
Effective human relations, communication, teamwork and organization skills.
Excellent computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to quickly develop a working knowledge of financial reporting systems applications; preference for working knowledge of Workiva, Visio and financial systems PeopleSoft and/or PowerPlan software.
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree with preference given for a business related field such as Accounting, Finance or Economics. Applicable experience of 7 to 8 years may be substituted for Bachelor’s Degree.
