Technology is reshaping every aspect of the way we communicate, work, and live.
As the IT Data Compliance Protection Coordinator, you will be on the forefront in shaping the way the County handles data. As the liaison between IT Security and County Departments, you will help the business ensure compliance with the HIPAA Security Rules as well as support adherence to 42 CFR part 2, PCI-DSS, and CJIS regulations. You'll cultivate relationships with business partners across the organization to garner support and raise awareness regarding proper methods to share data, collaborate with and audit access of protected data. You'll provide technical guidance and recommend solutions for transmitting, storing and processing Protected Health Information.
You will stay abreast of changing pertinent regulations as well as emerging technical solutions in order to analyze the potential impacts to County Departments. You pride yourself on your solution oriented and flexible problem-solving behavior, which will be crucial in developing compliance and security processes and procedures. With your inquisitive approach, you'll lead investigations related to regulatory compliance incidents and data breaches.
This is a new role on the IT Security team, so you'll have to be self directive, proactive, an effective communicator and comfortable with ambiguity. Additional responsibilities in this position will include:
Use of established tools to assist in determining mitigation and root cause of security and privacy incidents, including both cyber incidents and internal data loss within department business operations
Prepare reports, correspondence and other documents related to "compliance" incidents and breaches
Perform various security risk assessments and compliance audits
Development of requirements, business specifications, business process analysis, user acceptance test plans and user training programs related to HIPAA and IT Security projects
