Position Summary:
The Maintenance Generalist I supports Home Forward's strategic and operational objectives in the following way: To perform a wide range unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor tasks to ensure that the agency's apartment communities are safe and sanitary places to live and work, efficient to operate and assets to their neighborhoods.

This position is represented by LIUNA Local 737 and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Home Forward and LIUNA Local 737 . If the person selected is not affiliated with LIUNA Local 737 he or she must become a member in good standing immediately after selection.<>

The position is a full-time regular position stationed Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm at the Bud Clark Commons Apartments in NW Portland.

About the Bud Clark Commons: The Bud Clark Commons is a public partnership between the City of Portland, Home Forward and Transition Projects, Inc. ("TPI") to create a 90 bed men's shelter, a community resource center with programmatic services and 130 units of permanent supportive housing, all targeting the most medically vulnerable and chronically homeless citizens of our community. It is located at NW Broadway and Hoyt Street in Portland, OR. Through public funding sources, Home Forward develops and manages the entire project. Transition Projects is responsible for the services within the men's shelter and the day access center.

The ideal candidate will have sufficient education to perform at a level of competency corresponding to the work assigned. Additionally, One year of janitorial, grounds keeping, landscaping or building trades experience. Possession of an a valid driver's license is required.
