This recruitment is intended to fill several temporary, part-time and full-time Liquor Distribution Worker 1 positions on both day shift (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM) and swing shift (2:30 PM to 11:00 PM). Based on ability to meet work expectations and available vacancies, temporary employees may be hired into regular status positions. The Liquor Distribution Worker 1 position performs the duties necessary to move distilled spirits through the Distribution Center in preparation for shipment to the 265 liquor stores throughout the State of Oregon. The mission of the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) is to support businesses, public safety, and community livability through education and the enforcement of liquor and marijuana laws. We will be screening applications that are received by 9:00 AM every Wednesday. If you meet the minimum qualifications (listed below) for the position, you will receive an email inviting you to attend an interview the following day. If for some reason you are unable to make the interview the following day, please re-apply and you will be considered the following week** Interviews are scheduled in order of arrival time. You must bring a list of at least three references with you to the interview. Candidates who fail to bring references will NOT be interviewed. We require at least two supervisor references and one peer or personal reference. Please inform your references that someone from OLCC could be calling immediately after your interview. You will begin with a 15 minute individual interview with the hiring manager. If you are successful in the interview, you will be given a brief warehouse tour with a lifting exercise. If you are successful in both the interview and the lifting exercise, the hiring manager will extend a verbal offer to you contingent on successful background check and reference checks.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Using supplied pick labels, manually picks full cases of liquor from pallets, racking, and staged areas and loads the products onto the conveyor system.
Operates shrink-wrap machine to wrap and seal repack (split-case orders) cases for stability and security. Moves cases from conveyor to shrink wrap machine for sealing. Uses an RF scanner to produce labels identifying repack case contents. Applies labels to wrapped cases and sorts cases by agency number, staging onto carts for shipping the next day. Places completed orders as needed onto repack conveyor for shipping.
Uses RF scanner and electric utility cart to re-warehouse products between locations within the distribution center. Re-palletizes or re-codes product to conform to warehouse standards and Oregon product codes.
Performs general housekeeping duties such as cleaning, dusting, sweeping, mopping, stacking pallets, replacing rollers in flow rack and re-tagging product locations.
Operates bailer used for recycling cardboard.
Reports information on breakage for breakage/claims processing.


Ability to repeatedly lift and carry 50 pound cases of product during an 8 hour shift; AND
Must be at least 18 years of age; AND
Have a basic knowledge of spoken and written English sufficient to understand verbal and written instructions and to respond to requests in person.

Desired Attributes

General warehouse or related experience which may include: picking orders for shipments, working on conveyor systems, restocking merchandise, and maintaining a clean warehouse area.
Experience using a radio frequency scanner.
