Head Teacher is primarily responsible for the daily care, education and recreation of children. They are to provide emergent, child-directed, developmentally appropriate activities for children and must initiate and foster positive guidance and behavior management practices for children. The Head Teacher is responsible for volunteer supervision and modeling for teachers while engaging with children in the room. The Head Teacher is the Substitute On-site Director when the Program Coordinator and the Administrative Teacher are unavailable or are on breaks and lunches. It is their responsibility to maintain a high level of morale for the center and must be able to engage and effectively communicate with parents/guardians, volunteers, and other staff members.
