POLICE FLEET COORDINATOR
Salary Range: $4,118 to $5,250 per month.
Starting salary is $4,118 to $4,536 per month, (depending on qualifications), plus benefits.
General Statement of Duties
The principal function of an employee in this class is to develop projections for fleet needs for the department, coordinating the purchase of new vehicles and ensuring that current inventory receives regular maintenance and are kept in operational condition. A typical day could consist of reviewing service requests and coordinating the repair of equipment and warranty compliance with commercial vendors. The principal duties of this class are performed in a general police environment.

This includes coordinating with vendors and maintaining a maintenance and expense tracking database. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of an assigned supervisor, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The principal duties of this class are performed in a general police environment. This is a non-exempt position and is subject to the terms and conditions of a collective bargaining agreement.
Acceptable Experience and Training
High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of experience in coordinating vehicle/equipment maintenance, including 2 years of lead or supervisory experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
• Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record;
• Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation;
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) certifications desired, but not required.
