Multnomah County's Office of County Attorney has an immediate opening for an Assistant County Attorney 1 litigation generalist. Practice will include civil litigation before administrative tribunals and in federal and state courts. Prior litigation experience including case assessment, discovery, dispositive motions, and trial preferred.

The successful candidate will be flexible and utilize problem solving and innovation to provide creative options to help clients achieve their goals. Highest quality legal work, strong work ethic, ability to work as an effective member of a legal team, and intellectual curiosity emphasized.

The lawyers and staff provide legal services to the Chair's Office, Board of County Commissioners, transportation and bridges, library services, community corrections, elections, and real property taxation. The County Attorney's Office represents the county in state and federal courts. Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:

2 - 5 years of increasingly responsible legal experience
Law degree from an accredited college or university
Current membership of the Oregon State Bar; admitted to practice in Oregon State Court; certified to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the State of Oregon, and the ability to be certified in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals
