Position Summary:

The Language Services Program Coordinator (LSPC) is responsible for a variety of complex tasks related to organizing interpretation and translations services provided at PPCW. The LSPC is responsible for the assessment of written and oral Spanish language skills of staff in roles requiring bi-lingual or interpreter abilities, including initial and annual testing and evaluation of these employees. This person is also responsible for updating policies and procedures related to PPCW interpreting services; coordinating external vendors’ services for provision of interpreter services; and providing internal document translation services. Document translation services are primarily for the Patient Services Department and include medical records forms and patient education materials from prepared English form to Spanish for use by patients in PPCW health centers. Other departments may also need translating services from time to time. Other related duties incidental to the work described above may be required.

Position: This is a represented, non exempt position.

Compensation: Starting pay $16.85 hourly wage + DOE

Schedule: Part-time (15 hours/week). 15 hour standard workweek would have consistent schedule Monday – Friday, but schedule will be determined once candidate is selected.

Minimum Qualifications:

-High School Diploma or GED
-Must have interpreter certification from National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters, Certification Commission for Healthcare -Interpreters, or comparable program.
-Translation experience preferred.
