The Mental Health Consultant in the Utilization Review Department provides care management to Health Share's Multnomah Medicaid members. Health Share has a full risk contract with the State of Oregon for the provision of managing inpatient and outpatient mental health care services to approximately 100,000 Multnomah County Adults/Children who are eligible for the Oregon Health Plan.

Responsibilities include but is not limited to the following:
Responsible for authorizing Health Share Multnomah dollars for mental health treatment through utilization management care practices.
Applying medical necessity criteria to clinical information for initial and concurrent service authorizations.
Coordinating care with community providers, partners, and consumer/advocates who create plans for successful treatment engagement and outcomes.
Advocating for the most appropriate level of care matching individualized clinical needs of Medicaid members.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills:

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in the mental health field with major coursework in social science, or a related field demonstrating the capacity for the required knowledge and skills to meet provider Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) credentialing requirements as required by Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs) to treat adults. Graduate degree in psychology.
Graduate degree in social work.
Graduate degree in recreational therapy
Graduate degree in art therapy.
Graduate degree in music therapy.
Graduate degree in a behavioral science field
Bachelor's degree in nursing AND licensed by the State or Oregon
Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy AND licensed by the State of Oregon
Experience/Certification: Two (2) years of professional experience as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) providing mental health treatment through utilization management care practices.

Other: May require valid drivers' license. These positions may require a background investigation, which may include being fingerprinted. Employment is contingent on a passing a background investigation.
