Nursing Assistants provide a broad range of personal care, therapeutic and health & wellness support and social support for the disabled adult and elderly participants of the Center. Work tasks include: providing personal care like showering, assistive dining and toileting assistance; activities engagement like leading an exercise class, implementing a functional maintenance program or working on a puzzle; side work tasks like cleaning the kitchen, sweeping the garden or stocking supplies. If you are a mature, team-oriented caregiver, we would love to hear from you. Our days and hours of operation are M-F, from 7:30am to 4:30pm - we don't do weekends and neither will you!

Position Requirements include:

•3 years relevant experience working with geriatric and disabled adult population; C.N.A. license or Personal Assistant Certification strongly preferred.
•Abililty to speaking Spanish fluently preferred.
•The ability to lift 50 pounds and stay active and on your feet for up to 8 hours.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
•Prior experience as a medication aide strongly preferred.

Position Responsibilities will include:

•Strong communication and interpersonal skills – verbal and relationship building, writing and proof-reading.
•Strong computer skills – solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel and Outlook
•Organized and attentive to detail with strong planning skills.
•Act as a positive liaison between VOA and Providence Elderplace and community members.
•Self-motivated and willing to take initiative.
•Competent working in an interdisciplinary team.
•Flexible and able to adapt to changing environments.
•Professional appearance and positive attitude.
•Trustworthy and able to maintain high standard of confidentiality.
•Efficient and fast with a “can do” attitude and strong desire to “get the job done.”
