This recruitment will be used to fill a .75 FTE (30 hours a week) float position.
WIC is a program focusing on nutrition education, breastfeeding support, health and diet screening, growth monitoring, and program referrals as well as providing monthly food benefits for pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants and children up to 5 years of age. WIC serves families from many different cultural and ethnic traditions, languages, backgrounds and abilities. It is designed to promote positive health outcomes, strengthen life course nutrition and health, and reduce health disparities in the populations we serve.
As the WIC Dietitian you will:
Provide direct high-risk nutrition counseling, education, care plans, and referrals to WIC participants
Use dietary biochemical, medical and anthropometric data to assess medical nutrition needs
Provide nutrition/diet counseling and care plans based upon assessment of dietary, medical and lifestyle factors
Provide referrals to the community as appropriate and serve as a consultant to WIC and Health Department staff
Provide breastfeeding support, education, and referrals to WIC participants
Provide services using participant centered communications skills in a culturally competent manner
