The Part-time Social Media Marketing Assistant supports the Retail Program Director through the implementation of the Retail Marketing Program. The Social Media Marketing Assistant will support the Director as he/she creates, develops and manages an integrated annual marketing, communication and promotional campaign designed to promote downtown attractions, businesses,  amenities, events, experiences, as well as parking garages and parking validation program within the metropolitan designated market area.
Specific duties will include but are not limited to assisting with the development, implementation and tracking of consumer marketing programs as support staff for the Program; create regular content and manage all social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others as developed; coordinate with third party marketing contractors including creative agency, social media strategists, public relations agencies; create content and maintain organization website.
Working Conditions:
The Downtown Retail Social Media Marketing Assistant is a part time position; 20 hours per week. Days and/or division of hours among days of the week may be flexible and can be negotiated at the time of employment.
In addition to office hours, the Downtown Retail Social Media Marketing Assistant will work outside of the normal office atmosphere on a limited and seasonal basis when needed, including during the implementation and set-up for holiday promotions, Alliance events, conferences and conventions among other projects.   
Minimum qualifications
Minimum of three years of experience in a marketing, communications, journalism, and/or public relations position and completion of a four-year baccalaureate degree in a related discipline or specific related experience. Agency experience is preferred.
Success factors
The Downtown Retail Social Media Marketing Assistant must possess excellent communication skills. Must possess the ability to work well with a team, yet function independently.  He/she must possess an entrepreneurial, strategic, energetic and proactive demeanor while functioning in independent situations.
