APPLY: Metro's Community Placemaking grants

Portland Metro Area

600 NE Grand Ave, Portland, O 97232

Start Date: 11/27/2018 (applications open Jan 4)

End Date: 01/01/2019 (applications close Feb 4 at noon)

This January, Metro will accept applications for the 2019 cycle of our Community Placemaking grants. Community Placemaking projects have a few key ingredients. The idea comes from the community the project is intended to serve. Those community members, especially people of color or other historically marginalized communities, play a role in making the project happen. Arts or cultural activities bring people together to strengthen their connection to each other and the places they care about. Up to $160,000 is available for the 2019 cycle, in grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000. No matching funds are required. The application will open on January 4 and close on February 4 at noon, but you can start working on your proposal now. Updated materials for the 2019 cycle are now online. www.oregonmetro.gov/placemaking Staff is available to help think through your idea and get you ready to submit a strong application. Contact Dana Lucero to set up a time to talk (dana.lucero@oregonmetro.gov), or attend one of six upcoming information sessions.
