Getting to the Heart of Helping

We understand that small businesses owned by women and people of color face additional barriers in doing business. And running a small business can be hard. Most business owners wear multiple hats: business development, preparing bids and proposals, back office, HR, payroll… and they also do the work to provide the goods and services offered by their business. There are lots of technical assistance programs out there that are meant to help address barriers and make businesses more successful - but how do you direct a business owner to the right resource? In this session we will feature a panel of technical assistance program experts to learn about different programs and how to be helpful in making connections. Then we will work together to explore the journey of helping businesses navigate available resources and find the programs that meet their needs.

This Diversity Practitioners Summit is open to procurement and contracting professionals in public and private sector who work to create opportunities for businesses owned by women and people of color. We also invite representatives of technical assistance resource organizations to join the conversation and help the Diversity Practitioners understand the spectrum of resources available.
