Why did you move here?

Seemingly, I've been getting this question a lot lately (and rightfully so). I want to say something pretty, but the truth is, I moved to create a better life for my daughters. My daughters had been used to a lot of disappointment back in Georgia and I decided to up and move to create something different. A door opened for me to move here, and I ran through the door lol.

What is one thing that you need/want from a community right now?

I need a village. I want and need for my daughters (14 y/o fraternal twins) to see and experience something different; things that are good and positive. I have 4 years to make a different impact in their lives before they graduate high school. I want my daughters to see successful blacks/people of color. I want my daughters to be exposed to great opportunities that weren't available in Atlanta. They're starting 9th grade at the art school here in Vancouver (VSAA) and this will be their return back to school after being homeschooled since 2nd grade.

What kind of civic connection are you interested in making?

Honestly, I'm not sure. However, I am open to learning about what civic opportunities are available.
