Why did you move here?

My partner and I moved to Portland so that she could take up a promising job opportunity while also remaining close to family during a time of transitions.

What is one thing that you need/want from a community right now?

I moved to Portland knowing little about the city and its culture. The topics that interest activist, artist, and writer, I have learned that I need a certain kind of community in order to thrive, one attuned to the movements and rhythms Black and African diasporic life.

What kind of civic connection are you interested in making?

I am looking to connect with people engaged in the arts and literature community in Portland, as well as people engaged in activist work around issues of global mobility and ecology.
