I joined Portland State University primarily driven by my deep passion for serving students from diverse backgrounds—particularly first-generation college students, those from low-income families, minority and immigrant communities, and other marginalized populations. The vibrant outdoor lifestyle, well-preserved natural environment, and strong culture of sustainability in Portland and across Oregon made my transition from New York City to Portland even more rewarding.
