Senior Services Coordinator

Part-Time (19 hrs); Non-Exempt

Reports to: Executive Director

This position has a one year limited term ending on or around 1/31/2020.


This position will work with the Executive Director (ED) and other Senior Staff to develop a Senior Services Resource Center at Catholic Charities.


Support parish development and operation of Parish Senior Ministries, (beginning with St. Cecelia in Beaverton. Two to five additional parish partners are expected in the first year.
Work with Catholic Charities (CC) staff including Homeless & Housing Services and Caritas Housing Leaders to determine how best to serve seniors residing in CC resident properties.
Parish ministries: maintaining support materials (resource center) for developing and supporting pastors, lay ministers and parish volunteers and partners who desire to develop a self-managed senior ministry.
Serve as a resource to parishes and to CC on issues facing older adults in our Diocese / State and local community.
Assist ED and Development team in securing long-term and sustainable funding by helping with grant writing and presentations as needed.
Participate in trainings and coordination of meetings as requested by Supervisor.
Adherence to Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, preferably in Social Work.
Experience providing case management, information and referrals and advocacy.

Knowledge of basic ethics and privacy rights including full understanding and knowledge of HIPAA privacy laws and regulations.

Strong knowledge of the Catholic Church and culture required; practicing Catholic preferred.
Knowledge of the needs and issues of people who are elderly or have disabilities.
Experience with community networking and organizing.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook.
Demonstrate judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential matters.

Commitment to Catholic Charities mission to work in partnership with vulnerable populations to achieve lasting solutions to poverty and injustice.

Must be able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner. High attention to detail required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.
Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.

Ability to work well in team setting, as well as independently; be flexible and adapt well to different dynamics in a fast paced work environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, which could include some evenings and weekends.

Ability to support organizational and program specific mission and goals.
Frequent travel required. Must have driver's license, access to vehicle and ability to obtain automobile insurance at levels required by agency (100/300/100).
Satisfactory results from criminal, civil and/or motor vehicle background check required

COMPENSATION: Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience.
