The primary focus of this position is to support campus recruitment and enrollment initiatives through new student recruitment and outreach to applicants to enable Washington State University Vancouver to meet enrollment goals. This position proactively plans, coordinates, and implements outreach to high school students, many of whom are from underrepresented and underserved populations, including students of color and first generation students. This position recruits new students through active participation in recruitment events, high school and college fairs, email, phone, and provides general admissions and financial aid/scholarship information in a timely manner. Establishes and maintains ongoing relationships/contacts with high school counselors, teachers, and other community partners. Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Admissions.
Positions require a Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) year of experience directly related to student services. A Master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Must have or be able to obtain at time of hire, a valid driver’s license.
Ability to travel and work some weekends and evenings.
Previous college/university new student recruitment experience
Spanish speaker preferred
Relevant computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Experience working with diverse populations such as non-traditional, first-generation, and low income
Experience organizing and planning programs and public presentations
Master’s degree in a related field
