GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Equity and Family Partnership leads and supervises staff within the Office of Equity and Family Partnership at the Northwest Regional Education Service District (NWRESD). In collaboration with and under the direction of the Superintendent, the Director of Equity and Family Partnership leads the implementation of the NWRESD Equity Policy and other policies and procedures concentrated on assuring educational and systemic equity; interacts with staff as an advisor and group facilitator; participates in creating and sustaining a diverse, positive environment with trust among stakeholders and staff; ensures all NWRESD staff have the will and the skills to implement culturally sustainable practices; leads efforts to identify and remove systemic and structural barriers to achieving educational equity; leads the NWRESD towards it’s aspiration to become an antiracist multicultural organization; ensures the NWRESD is a regional and statewide leader in assisting PreK - Postsecondary partners to close opportunity and access gaps for historically marginalized groups and individuals; and collaborates with internal and external educational leaders and community groups to achieve the mission and goals of the NWRESD.

The Director embeds the fundamental core values of equity, inclusion, partnership, collectivism, and diversity throughout the NWRESD by providing counsel and coaching to administrators. The Director provides coaching and program direction across the agency and to component school districts by developing and facilitating professional learning activities and engaging staff, families and education partners in exploring how educational and operational practices create, maintain, and/or exasperate systems of advantage and disadvantage in student opportunity and outcomes. The Director leads the development and implementation of proactive equity initiatives in support of NWRESD’s stated vision, values, and strategic priorities. The Director will be responsible for continuously improving equitable outcomes-based practices for the NWRESD and will champion the importance and value of a diverse and inclusive environment, culturally sustaining educational practices, and authentic family/community partnership.
