Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Corporate Manufacturing

This individual will have a key influence on the organization and the success of delivering our new product introduction and on-going manufacturing performance commitments. This person plays a critical role by championing the manufacturing engineering function for New Product Introductions, developing manufacturing tooling and process concepts, managing detailed tooling design activities, and driving global best practices across Hyster-Yale’s Global Manufacturing Network. This individual interacts with all aspects and at all levels of the organization, including product and manufacturing engineering, manufacturing operations (assembly and fabrication), procurement, and suppliers. Responsibilities:


Champions the global manufacturing engineering function for New Product Introductions by driving the development and adoption of manufacturing requirements, resolving manufacturing technical challenges, and ensuring manufacturing compliance with program scope, timing, and budget requirements
Develops manufacturing process and tooling concepts for fabrication, welding, and assembly
Manages the detailed design and development of manufacturing fixtures and tooling, conducts manufacturing design reviews, and ensures quality and safety are adequately addressed
Leads development and drives deployment of manufacturing systems, technologies, and best practices, within HY, to drive global manufacturing capability advances that meet future business needs
Determines and drives best common manufacturing processes across HY global footprint
Identifies, mitigates, and monitors project risks to cost, schedule, budget, and performance objectives

Qualifications:


BS degree in either Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
10 years working in a combination of engineering and leadership roles with direct fabrication, welding, and assembly experiences in the general metalworking industry comprised of mostly build-to-order discrete products
Proficiency in CAD / CAM / 3D Modelling with working understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
Prior experience with tool design
Demonstrated proficiency in project management disciplines with PMP Certification preferred
Demonstrated proficiency leading global initiatives in a matrix organization
Skills and experience developing innovative / novel approaches to manufacturing challenges
Ability to take a directional concept and develop detailed requirements and a structured program around conceptual development, prove out, and application
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellence in use of Microsoft Office applications
Teamwork and Flexibility: Function well in a team environment with ability to adjust to shifting project priorities in response to customer or company needs
Proficient demonstration, at the manager level of Leadership Competencies: Drive for Results, Be Innovative, Be Strategic, Demonstrate Business Acumen, Develop & Empower
Ability to travel globally up to 25% of time
