POSITION SUMMARY:
Do you dig working on heavy equipment? Do you have experience analyzing, performing and leading maintenance operations for heavy equipment and technical systems? Are you a skilled technician who can skillfully manage contracts, prioritize repair needs and keep multiple maintenance and repair projects on track at the same time?

Bring your talents to Metro, where you will support the Solid Waste Operations (SWOps) team in making the region stronger and more sustainable for everyone who lives here.

SWOps oversees two regional waste transfer stations that serve more than 450,000 customers annually. This position plays a critical role by inspecting and maintaining facility assets like waste densifiers, rolling stock and other systems to ensure these critical functions are operating at all times. This position serves on a team that recommends improvements in product selection for improved performance, recommends budget projections, and trains co-workers on equipment inspection and maintenance.

This person will report directly to the site manager at Metro South Transfer Station. You will spend the majority of your time at Metro South in Oregon City, with occasional travel to other Metro locations around the region.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Two years of experience performing skilled work in a variety of maintenance and construction functions involving heavy equipment maintenance, welding and fabricating, carpentry and painting; AND
• Experience analyzing maintenance needs, approaches, costs and operational impacts in a safety-focused/high-productivity environment; AND
• A bachelor's degree in a related field;

• Any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the required duties and responsibilities.

A valid driver's license is required.
