The Distribution Business Analyst II will participate in all technical aspects of projects from functional design through implementation for Columbia Sportswear’s global Distribution Centers (DC’s). Responsibilities include requirement gathering, analysis, software design, testing, documentation, training, and implementation support. This person is responsible for administrative and technical support of WMS Manhattan Associates and will gain experience with Power BI and MercuryGate’s Transportation management system (TMS).
*This position is located at our Distribution Center in North Portland, Oregon.
•Manages small to medium-scale projects and plays a supporting analyst role on multiple simultaneous projects
•Participates in functional design meetings and documents business requirements and technical specifications. Works with external software vendors to turn specifications into software solutions
•Documents and executes thorough unit and system testing for all software and configuration changes
•Documents operating procedures and technical support material for all areas of the DC
•Prepares detailed,step-by-step procedures for each process and updates procedures as processes evolve
•Participates in the integrated testing of DC material handling equipment and the WMS. Assists in developing integrated test scripts, preparing test materials, executing integrated testing and documenting the results
•Designs, develops and delivers training using a ‘train the trainer’ methodology
•Manages code deliveries from software vendors and promotes code changes from test systems to production using change management software
•Develops and executes system conversions during upgrades of the WMS systems. Creates and refreshes test systems
•Bachelor’s Degree preferred with emphasis in business, supply chain management, computer science, information systems, or accounting or related work experience equivalent to a degree
•3+ years of experience in IS or supply chain positions
•Knowledge of systems technology and general business principles in a highly-automated DC environment
•Ability to write SQL queries to assist in troubleshooting and data gathering
•General understanding of data analytics, Power BI experience a plus
•Ability to gather and document business requirements, and document technical specifications
•Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to varying levels of the company and varying audiences.
•Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts and conduct complex interpersonal interactions often involving moderately to highly complex or technical topics
•Some Distribution experience preferred, knowledge of WMS functionality, preferred in a highly-automated environment utilizing Manhattan Associates WMi
•Apparel and Footwear industry experience is a plus
