Reading Results is seeking several board members!
Who are we? We are an innovative, local non-profit that is working to address the literacy crisis, eliminate disparities in reading outcomes experienced by our students, and increase access for all.
We’re a school-day reading intervention that serves first, second and third graders 1:1 and 1:2 who are behind in reading, providing highly-individualized reading tutoring that works – students in our program average 16 months of gain in reading skills over an 8-month period. We also provide workforce development for unemployed and underemployed community members, and part-time work for our aging population.
Who are we seeking? Reading Results is seeking board members who reflect the students we serve – people who identify as members of historically-underserved populations and/or live or work east of 82nd or north of Killingsworth.
Desired skills and characteristics include:
* Connections to political and educational decision-makers and/or funders
* Non-profit strategy and/or leadership expertise
* education/literacy background
Not for you right now? Please consider referring a friend who you think would find this a meaningful experience!
What’s the process? Interested candidates will be invited to meet with our Executive Director at a school site visit, meet with several board members, attend a board meeting, and if you’re interested – you’ll be submitted for a board membership vote.
