Starting salary is $67,099 - $81,636 (depending upon qualifications), plus full benefits package.

At the City of Hillsboro’s Information Services Department we are seeking a Systems Administrator who is customer-service focused, skilled in system and database administration principles, and has software, hardware, and systems expertise.

On a typical day you may be responsible for implementing and documenting planned changes to systems, as well as verifying and updating account access, controls and procedures.
Additional responsibilities include driving problem resolution through performing technical support, troubleshooting, and testing as well as following change management processes. Your passion for customer service will be essential as you interact with external vendors for product support. Strong candidates will have skills in researching technical information related to technology needs as well as providing problem resolution and related support to internal Information Systems Analysts.

Examples of possible areas of responsibility for this position include:
• System Administration for systems to support community development departments, including Building, Planning, Engineering, Water, and Code Enforcement
• System Administration for systems to support Public Safety departments, including Police and Fire
• System Administration for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and timekeeping systems to support Finance and Human Resources

General Statement of Duties
The principal function of an employee in this class is to perform technical support for Web administration, and network/systems. Incumbents may serve as the initial response to an application, system, or related technical problem; troubleshoot performance issues; and execute updates, patches, etc. as assigned. Incumbents may be responsible for administering, maintaining, troubleshooting, and monitoring applications, programs, devices, computers, or other technical products, processes, or systems. Responsibilities include production system problem resolution and provision of support to Information Systems Analysts.

Acceptable Experience and Training
Associate’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and 3 years’ experience related to area of assignment and may require specific certifications; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

• Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record;
• Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS) Certification.
