General Position Summary:



Contribute to the satisfaction of Columbia Sportswear customers by performing repairs on returned product.



Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:


•Perform repairs in an efficient and timely manner to a “good as new” condition.


•Use all necessary equipment and machinery required in garment reconstruction.


•Cut fabric pieces when necessary.


•Prepare garments for shipment using the accompanying paperwork.


•Frequently lift/carry up to 10 pounds.


•Maintain positive open lines of communication with all Columbia Sportswear management, staff and other departments in order to contribute to the smooth flow of information and efficient operation of the organization.


•Ability to cope with a stressful work environment and cordially interact with coworkers to accomplish common tasks.


•Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.


•Gloves are required PPE for all production jobs in the Distribution Center



Specific Job Skills:


•Posses knowledge and skill to recognize problems and repair a variety of garments.
•Ability to communicate with product development when a problem with a garment is identified by the reoccurrence of repairs.
•Ability to prioritize work and complete assignments virtually unassisted.
•Physical and mental ability to operate an (electronic/electro-mechanical) sewing machine.
•Ability to read, write, and speak English.
•Mental ability to conduct interpersonal interactions with company personnel.
•Physical ability to use telephone, operate (electric) scissors, sit for extended periods of time, make repetitive hand/wrist and arm/shoulder movements, and frequently lift/carry up to 10 pounds.



Education and/or Experience:



High school education or equivalent. Three to five years’ experience in garment construction and/or repairs required.



Job Conditions:



Job may require hours that often exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week to complete priority projects. Exposure to Distribution Center machinery/equipment such as conveyor belts, forklifts and loading docks.
