The Opportunity: Development Assistant
Position Summary: RACC is searching for an experienced and nimble Development Assistant. This critical role will focus on supporting Board operations, assisting in the planning and execution of fund-raising campaigns, supporting the Executive Director and Director of Philanthropic Innovation in engaging and communicating with donors, promoting special events, creating development calendars, maintaining databases, and preparing materials. The ideal candidate for this role is detail oriented and possesses impeccable written and verbal communication skills, excellent networking abilities, top-notch people skills, and strong time management skills. The Development Assistant will work to enhance the efficiency of RACC’s Development and Advocacy Team, support organizational growth, assist with securing funding, and maintain positive relations with donors while promoting the Mission, Vision and Values of RACC
Primary Responsibilities:
• Board Operations o Scheduling and Calendar support o Minute Taking and Documentation o Preparation and facilitation of Board Meetings • Fundraising and Donor Support o Building and maintaining client and donor databases, and preparing and managing mailing lists o Supporting and improving fund-raising efforts o Enhancing development initiatives o Engaging with current and potential donors, as well as tracking and ensuring timely acknowledgment of contributions
o Drafting and proposing outreach strategies • Executive Support o Scheduling and Calendar support o Drafting communications on behalf of Executive Director and Director of Philanthropic Innovation o Other support as needed

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: • At least five (5) years of experience in administration, preferably in non-profit, advocacy, or political management industries • Excellent written communication skills and strong presentation and public speaking skills • Exceptional organization skills; highly detail-oriented with strong follow-through and the ability to unfailingly meet tight deadlines. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office • Excellent interpersonal skills • Database management experience • Customer-service oriented
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: • Experienced in fund development • Intermediate to Expert level proficiency in Raiser’s Edge • Intermediate proficiency with HubSpot, SalesForce, or similar CRM platforms • Experience using • A history of working collaboratively and successfully with people and organizations from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds and a broad range of ideological positions and religious views. • Experience with and a high degree of comfort working with technology. • Ability to work independently when necessary and keep organized in a fast-paced environment, manage several projects simultaneously and adjust to frequently changing demands. • Creative, results-oriented, self-starting, and willing to learn • Ability to travel, as necessary, and participate in evening and weekend business activities as needed • Unwavering commitment to the mission and goals of RACC, including a demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and access
Status: Part Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Schedule TBD
Regular Hours of Operation 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday - Friday
Flexibility will be required to accommodate events and business needs
Supervisor: Director of Philanthropic Innovation
Compensation: $30,000 – 40,000 DOE
