The Oregon Department of Revenue is searching for an exceptional leader to serve as our next Director. The Director reports to and is appointed by the Governor. The Director leads a dedicated group of more than 1000 employees based in Salem, Oregon and in district offices throughout the state. This is an Executive service position with state government.

What We Are Looking For
Ideally the candidates that will be selected for the initial screening interview will as a minimum have a verifiable track record of accomplishments in the areas of Finance, Tax/Revenue, Accounting or similar fields of at least 10 years.

The applicants background must demonstrates that they have led an organization of the size and complexity of the Oregon Department of Revenue.

A work history that demonstrates at least 10 years experience in senior leadership positions such as Director, Deputy Director , Vice President of an entity as large and complex as the Oregon Department of Revenue.

Education : A Bachelors' degree is required, though not required a post baccalaureate degree is strongly preferred (ideally a , JD, MBA, Finance, Accounting concentration or MPA etc.).

Desired Attributes:

A proven leader who has led an organization, department of government, or company that matches the size, scope and complexity of the Oregon Department of Revenue.
Ability for the leader to connect staff to the mission of the organization.
A leader with high ethical standards, who is willing to stand up to policymakers and staff when something isn't right. In addition, someone who is approve reproach in their own integrity and ethics.
A leader who recognizes how the department fits in the enterprise and is willing to work on enterprise initiatives and relationships to further both the enterprise and the department.
Your background should demonstrates that you understand the attributes needed to serve the Governor and the Legislature.
