In this role, you will provide Outdoor Lighting project management expertise with construction designs and customer connections. Collaborate with internal and external customers to provide a design that meets PGE Standards. Review illumination designs to meet muni guidelines or RP 8 Guidelines and provide recommendations as needed. As such you will serve as primary liaison from first contact to final closing on projects. You will also work with external customers to provide efficient Outdoor Lighting recommendations.

Your journey includes:

Project managing multiple street and area light projects (e.g., pole replacement, system maintenance and small road widening) of varying size and at varying steps within the project process; delivers project results that provide timely, effective, reliable and workable construction designs and customer connections.

Design production conducts that involves complex technical analyses and prepares complete designs using current design technology resources, including design software, drawings, material lists, design specifications, material specifications, corporate accounting, cost estimates, easements, permits, service requirements and line-extension agreements.

Responsible for design decisions that reflect a cost-effective, reliable, safe, constructible/maintainable transmission and distribution system.

Project execution accountability to ensure all steps of the project process are completed, considering timeliness and responsiveness to internal or external customers; effectively prioritizes and balances multiple tasks and projects to meet customer expectations; interprets and coordinates work with other PGE departments to fulfill project requirements; works independently and may mentor other project team members.

Fulfills project requirements consistent with company tariff, design standards, NESC requirements and applicable codes. Review lighting photometric designs with municipality/cities and project engineers to ensure the designs meet municipality codes or RP-8 guidelines and make recommendations if needed to coordinate with other PGE projects.

Serves as the primary point of contact on all assigned projects from first contact to final closing; consult with customers to identify requirements and translates them into design and service connection solutions consistent with tariff, company standards, requirements and applicable codes.

Respond to questions from other team members and stakeholders; may provide information or training to newer team members.

The successful candidate will typically have a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, computer-assisted design or other related field or equivalent experience. Typically, one or more years in utility operations or related field at the Design Project Manager level and three or more years of experience at the Associate Design Project Manager level. The position will be filled at the level that commensurate with the successful candidate’s applicable skills and experience.
