CCC’s Old Town Recovery Clinic is seeking a Mental Health & Addictions Counselor, QMHP/CADC!
The Mental Health & Addictions Counselor provides clinical and support to the residents of the Bud Clark Commons (BCC). The BCC Case Management Team provides and coordinates a wide range of supportive and therapeutic mental health and addictions services for adults with physical illness, severe mental illnesses and substance use issues who are living in the BCC. The team works to address all treatment needs, including crisis management, substance use disorder services, medication management, physical health treatment, mental health treatment, accessing benefits and entitlements as well as supporting both long term and short term housing goals. A significant part of the services provided will be in strengthening current supports or making connections to longer-term supports including primary care, mental health and SUD treatment. The team utilizes harm reduction strategies to promote the values of BCC’s permanent supportive housing model.
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Duties will include:
Provide engagement services to clients who are pre-contemplative regarding recovery of mental illness, addictions and health issues utilizing strengths-based case management and motivational interviewing concepts.
Coach clients in setting goals and identifying realistic steps in order to achieve them.
Assist clients in developing and accessing natural community supports.
Advocate for each individual when there are difficulties obtaining needed services in the community.
Assist with milieu management of the common areas in the upstairs Bud Clark Commons, providing direct milieu-based services to clients while modeling clinical skills to other staff.
Provide individual and group treatment to clients utilizing illness management and recovery concepts.
Share addictions expertise by working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary treatment team, modeling integrated treatment skills and training other staff in evidence based principles and practice.
Conduct and document Mental Health Assessments for enrolled clients, including mental status exam, DSM diagnosis, and clinical formulation.
Master's degree in a human services field and one year experience in mental health. Experience with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) preferred. Must meet State guidelines for QMHP and be registered with the appropriate board.
Must have current CPR certification
Must be credentialed as a CADC or able to meet credentialing requirements within 6 months of hire
If in recovery, must be able to document continuous abstinence under independent living conditions or recovery housing for the immediate past two years.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB Test, and background check. This includes • clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit.
