What We’re Looking For:

FoodCorps seeks a motivated, collaborative and detail-oriented individual to provide project management and administrative support to the Executive Team. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the coordinator will be able to balance strategic thinking, pacesetting project management and careful execution. They will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and success of the Executive Team by contributing to strategic projects and important internal and external deliverables. This is a full time position located in Portland, OR.

The coordinator will be behind the scenes in an innovative, high-impact nonprofit organization, and will be supporting strategic decisions large and small. They will also support and learn about all functions of the organization including fundraising, programs, strategy, leadership and communications.

Primary responsibilities

Coordinate large-group internal meetings in every aspect involving FoodCorps Executive Team, ensuring that materials are organized, logistics are finalized and technical support is high quality

Collaborate with the Chief of Staff to build sustainable project management and communication systems

Manage select projects across the organization, ensuring high quality, on-time deliverables

Coordinate CEO’s internal responsibilities and work with the Chief of Staff to support strong management of VP-level staff

Collaborate with the Manager of CEO and Board Fundraising Initiatives, who is responsible for the CEO’s outward-facing work

Relieve administrative burden on Executive Team members, supporting them in calendar and meeting management, travel booking, expense reporting, events planning and more

Manage the tracking system for annual department-level goals.

Contribute to other high-priority special projects led by a member of FoodCorps Executive Team, applying skills including:

Write and edit documents for internal and external communication

Project management

Research and synthesis of relevant literature

Skills of the Ideal Candidate:

2+ years professional office experience.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Dedicated to impeccable customer service and creative problem solving

Enjoys working with people and on teams; must be willing to both take direction and manage up

Ability to use intuition and sound judgement to anticipate needs and to to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.

Capable of dealing with a variety of personalities in situations requiring diplomacy, poise and firmness.

Stellar talent for project management. Strength in multi-tasking, goal-setting, and prioritization.

Ability to plan and prepare for meetings seamlessly.

Strong, capable relationship builder, including by phone and email, using multiple ways of communication according to partner preference and geography.

Resourceful and flexible

Highly motivated and has the ability to work as a team player and also to work independently with minimum supervision.

Possess an intellectual curiosity, understanding and enthusiasm for the work of FoodCorps

Technically savvy

Holds the highest standards of loyalty and ethics to safeguard confidential information

FoodCorps pays salaries that are competitive with nonprofits of our budget size and geographic location, and offers generous vacation and medical benefits, 401(k) matching, professional development funds and a sabbatical policy. This position is a Coordinator role with a salary range of $42,000.
