The County Administrative Office is currently conducting a search for a Government Relations Manager. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated experience 1) developing and executing legislative priorities; and 2) developing processes, reports, tracking mechanisms, and communication protocols to keep the policy board and key stakeholders apprised of legislative issues and opportunities. Successful candidates will have the ability to develop and maintain positive/constructive relationships with legislators and key staff and stay abreast of a wide range of topics and interest areas. Individuals in this position will testify on behalf of the County to the legislature and other governing bodies and participate in local and regional meetings. The successful individual in this role will network effectively with elected and appointed directors to analyze, assess and provide feedback regarding conceptual and draft legislation.

Education and Experience:
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
A Bachelor's Degree in public administration, business administration, political science, communications, or a related field; AND
Five (5) years of demonstrated successful experience in government relations and/or legislative advocacy.
