The CEE departmental strategic vision includes research themes in prevention, planning, and management of extraordinary events; evaluation, development, and deployment of technologies that promote a better society; and creation and maintenance of healthy environments (see www.pdx.edu/cee/strategic-vision). For this position, we seek candidates with a research focus in one or more of the following areas: theoretical structural mechanics of materials and/or systems, advanced computational modeling, cyber physical systems, data analysis, modeling and prognosis using sensor data, and/or innovative materials/structures for a sustainable infrastructure. Candidates who can effectively teach and mentor a diverse student body who also enhance the MCECS strategic research directions are especially encouraged to apply.
