The Wetland Conservancy’s (TWC) mission is to partner with communities across our state in conserving, enhancing, and restoring the physical and ecological values of Oregon’s greatest wetlands for current and future generations. Our boots are in Oregon’s wetlands. Founded in 1981, The Wetlands Conservancy is dedicated to working in partnership with community members, public and private sector partners, and regional tribes. Our nationally recognized work includes stewardship of 32 preserves and over 1,500 acres of Oregon wetlands, valued at $11 million. The Opportunity:
The Marketing and Development Manager is responsible for supporting the organization’s communications and fundraising work. The Manager will coordinate all aspects of the organization’s communications, including developing content for and implantation of the biannual printed newsletters and monthly e-newsletters, website content, e-blasts and social media.
The Manager will direct development projects and processes, such as appeal, solicitation, donor cultivation and grants. They also will be responsible for the maintenance of the organization’s database and will create reports that support the success of development goals. They will assist with writing appeal letters, thank you letters, grants and in other capacities as needed.

Marketing Responsibilities:
Social Media
• Curate all content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn
• Build promotions during events
• Create content calendar for all campaigns and events
• Monitor and evaluate metrics
Website
• Website administrator, update and maintenance
• Curate and design all content, write blogs
• Monitor and evaluate metrics
Communications
• Develop yearly communications plan
• Develop content for e-newsletter and printed bi-annual newsletter
• Build communications strategy for all campaigns
• Manage photo library


Development Responsibilities:
Fundraising process and coordination
• With Executive Director, develop yearly attainable fundraising goals
• Build strong sustainable financial support through donor cultivation and grants
• Implement, plan and track the cultivation, retention and recognition of donors
• Help build relationships with grantors, foundations, and partners
• Work effectively with staff to research and draft high-quality grant proposals that support TWC programs
• Maintain contact with funding organizations during review and submission of proposals
• Plan and implement events with staff support
• Coordinate and attend donor cultivation activities

Database Management & Analysis
• Develop easily understandable reports to evaluate fundraising successes
• Maintain donor database program to ensure accurate and timely data collection
• Advocate and train staff and board on database use

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or equivalent experience
3-5 year’s minimum development experience
Excellent writing, organizational and presentation skills
Experience working with nonprofits desirable
Passion for wetlands
Proficiency in social media platforms, CRM and MS Office
Humor and creative spirit

Compensation
.75-Full Time, nonexempt, at will employment
Full Time: $48,000-$53,000 depending on qualifications and experience; part time pro-rated salary
Full Time: Vacation benefit 13.3 hours/month (4 weeks); 10 paid holidays; 10 hours/month sick; Part Time pro-rated
Premium medical/dental benefit; Retirement with up to 3% employer match
Reports to Executive Director
