Salary: $81,337 - $115,501 annually

The Oregon Zoo's Safety and Security Manager plays a primary role in making the zoo welcoming to all while managing the Oregon Zoo's safety and security programs. Responsibilities include developing and implementing safety and security programs; ensuring compliance in safety and risk matters; conducting accident investigations; preparing corrective action recommendations; implementing policies and procedures; ensuring the zoo meets and exceeds all regulatory and AZA safety standards; collaborating with Metro's Risk Management department; and coordinating activities with internal work units and outside organizations. Also, assists senior leadership with a variety of health and safety projects, and serves in an oversight capacity to the zoo's security manager. Position does require weekend work and occasional evening hours.
Advanced knowledge and training, which can be evidenced by a college degree, in Occupational Health and Safety or closely related field, and four years of progressively responsible occupational health and safety experience, including three years of supervisory experience; or any combination of experience and education that provides the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job. This job requires a valid driver's license. One year security/law enforcement experience preferred.
