The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for a wide range of administrative tasks supporting the Human Resources Department. Responsibilities include maintaining employee files, responding to employees with answers to general HR related questions, supporting the recruiting and hiring process, performing tasks related to the onboarding and orientation of new employees, and maintaining the HR department intranet pages. The role also provides the HR team with general administrative support and organizing various employee activities and events. The Human Resources Assistant will interact with all levels within the Credit Union and must maintain a high level of professionalism.

Responsibilities:
•Serves as first point of contact for employee questions and inquiries.
•Assists in onboarding new hires
•Registers employees for training/seminars, maintains log of attendees as applicable.
•Maintains HR department intranet pages, documents, links and resources to ensure material is current.
•Sends out/maintains employee electronic agreements and other HR documents as needed.
•Administers peer recognition program, posts nominations, keeps records, issues certificates, and arranges quarterly/annual award recognitions.
•Provides assistance with wellness program.
•Administers employee milestone anniversary/life events, and Logowear programs.
•Provides assistance to Recruiters - schedules interviews, maintains Applicant Tracking System, processes onboarding documents, and conducts reference checks as needed.
•Keeps track of completed performance reviews and individual development plans
•Provides assistance with Educational Reimbursement program
•Prepares monthly organizational charts, IT reports, and other HR reports,as needed
•Issues new and replacement security ID badges for employees; orders business cards, name tags.
•Assist with arrangements and scheduling for meetings to catering, facility setup, supplies, attendance.
•Maintains the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of employee records.

Requirements:
•One year professional Human Resources experience.
•Bachelors in Human Resources or related discipline preferred.
•HR Generalist Certification and/or PHR highly desired.
•Basic knowledge of state and federal employment laws pertaining to recruiting, hiring and maintenance of human resource records.
•Must be technology savvy and have the ability to learn new software applications quickly. Proficient in the use of MS Office programs including Word and Excel.
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
•Excellent organization, planning and prioritization skills.
•High attention to detail; ability to ensure important details are not overlooked.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) to communicate ideas effectively at all organizational levels.
•Excellent service and problem solving skills.
•Ability to maintain high standards in areas of security, accuracy, thoroughness, completeness and neatness of documentation, system input and correspondence.
•Ability to exercise judgment, initiative and tact in dealing with members, staff and vendors.
•Present a professional, business-like appearance and manner.
•Flexibility to deal with unexpected events, and occasionally attend meetings and events that may occur outside of regularly scheduled work hours.
•Ability to maintain confidentiality.
