NOTE: This is a temporary seasonal position that is expected to end on or around October 31, 2019. This recruitment will remain open until we have filled the vacant position.


Perform paint maintenance of all marine facilities including building structures, striping of asphalted areas, signage, and protective safety structures.

Perform routine and preventative maintenance painting using brush, roll, and spray equipment.

Perform new construction painting.

Performs contract painting work for Port tenants.

Operate motorized and non-motorized paint striping equipment.

Operate man-lift devices to perform painting at elevated heights.

Participate in multi-trade work tasks that involve more complex maintenance and repair activities.

Perform emergency repair work as assigned.

Perform administrative and other work task duties as assigned.


High School diploma is preferred; or equivalent is required.

Minimum of two years of experience performing commercial or industrial painting is required. Journeyman level certification and experience working in a maintenance or construction environment is preferred.

Experience with pavement stenciling, striping and markings is preferred.

Valid Drivers' License is required.

Must be able to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) to access the secure areas of the terminals.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work at heights and in confined spaces.

Working knowledge of general equipment operating in a construction and maintenance environment is preferred.


Able to calculate surface areas to be painted and estimate amount of paint to be used.

Demonstrated experience performing daily work tasks with limited supervision (may be in the form of blueprints, layout designs, and process-specific information).

Utilize MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) as required.

Ability to:

Work at heights, in confined spaces, and occasionally on scaffolding and planks and under docks.
