The City of Tigard's Library is looking for several enthusiastic and patron-focused On-Call Librarians to join our team and help fill evening, weekend and short notice scheduling needs.

These positions perform professional level reference and readers advisory functions at the adult, young adult, and children's reference desks including, but not limited to:•Helping patrons locate library materials and use library computers, electronic media and databases, microforms and evaluate patron needs to determine other required services.
•Searching the internet and using other library resources to help patrons access information.
•Working on special projects as assigned.

Qualifications: Knowledge of the principles and practices of professional librarianship; knowledge of and skill in using electronic media and online databases; excellent customer service skills and the ability to effectively deal with the public; skill in teaching and assisting patrons. Applicants must be able to work a wide variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends. Your applicant profile must indicate your availability for these shifts.

Required Experience and Training: Any combination of training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities, to perform the essential functions of the position, may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:•Master's degree in library science from an accredited college or university; and
•Some library experience
