The primary focus of the Admissions Counselor is to support campus recruitment and enrollment initiatives through outreach to applicants, event planning, and individual admissions counseling appointments. This position requires autonomy and independence related to decision-making and advising and is the lead admissions liaison with our Clark College partners on advising questions and general transfer concerns. This position will work from spaces at both Clark College and WSU Vancouver, but may also travel within Washington and Oregon for recruitment.
The admissions counselor communicates and interfaces with key Clark College faculty, staff and administration on a regular basis. In addition, this position is responsible for initiating, coordinating and executing various recruitment programs and services to support and facilitate Clark College students transferring to WSU Vancouver.
Positions require a Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) year of experience directly related to student services. A Master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Must have or be able to obtain at time of hire, a valid driver’s license. Ability to travel, work some weekends and evenings.
Experience advising or supporting transfer student population.
Previous student recruitment experience.
Familiarity with Washington State community and technical college systems.
Experience working with diverse populations such as non-traditional, first generation, and low income. Bi-lingual (Spanish, English or other)
Experience organizing and planning programs and presentations.
Relevant computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Master’s degree in a related field.
